Abstract:

The integration of Swasthavṛtta (Ayurvedic principles for maintaining health) and Yoga into maternal and child healthcare presents a promising approach for enhancing well-being during pregnancy, childbirth, and early childhood. Both Swasthavṛtta and Yoga emphasize holistic health, focusing on mental, physical, and spiritual balance. This paper explores the relevance of these practices in contemporary maternal and child health, particularly in the context of preventive care, stress management, physical fitness, and emotional well-being. By incorporating these ancient Indian practices into modern healthcare systems, we can create a synergistic approach that promotes overall wellness for mothers and children. The paper also discusses how these practices align with modern scientific principles and their potential role in improving health outcomes in maternal and child care settings.
